DRIVING TO WORK

I know I've said before that I work in DC.  And sometimes, if I have the opportunity, I like to take photos on my way home, usually at a stoplight!!  These are some of the photo ops I've had.  There are some gorgeous buildings in DC.  When I head in at 5 in the morning, it's still dark and all the monuments are lit up.  It's really beautiful!!  I head into downtown on Independence Avenue, and this is part of what I see every single morning.

Sometimes I take photos on my way home too, depending on the traffic and whether or not I have time to catch a couple of shots while the signal is red.

Sitting in traffic under 395, waiting to get onto the ramp to head home.  I love this shot.

Love the photos Genny, especially the first one. How long of a commute do you have? I have driven through DC a few times and found it is not for the faint of heart! Have a great week, hope you are enjoying Fall, Julie.

Farm Girl: Thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving such a sweet comment. I think it's prettier in the early morning than at any other time.

Julie: I'm LOVING fall! It's my favorite time of the year. I wish it lasted longer. My commute in the morning is only 40 min. or so, not too bad. But I leave at 4:45 for work to beat the traffic. Still, so worth it to get in early and leave before the traffic gets really bad in the evening. There are some very aggressive drivers here. I think the trick is not to use your turn signal until you have to or they'll never let you in (halfway kidding here). LOL!!

I'm so envious! On my commute, it's desert sand and a whole lot more desert sand (which is beautiful in its own right.) Thanks for sharing these great photos.
