I caught this guy or gal sunbathing in a tree as I drove home from work this afternoon. It looks like a young Redtail, and he spent the entire time preening in the sun.
Who could blame him? It was warm this afternoon. After a chilly start this morning, it really felt like spring had crept in to lay her plans for blossoms and warmth and nesting birds. Notice all the fat buds on the tree?
Just to speed things along, I'm posting this photo that I took of this yellow swallowtail last summer. Now, it really feels like spring, doesn't it?
