Happy Mother's Day
I wanted to take this time to remember my mom who passed away almost 11 years ago on May 16th. She accomplished unbelievable things while she was on this earth and overcame so many hardships. She raised five kids basically on her own and made sure we never went hungry. We were poor growing up and wore hand-me-down clothes and shoes that had old heels nailed carefully back on. Sometimes we were the recipient of food baskets at holidays. But my mom made sure we had everything we needed to become capable and independent people. Now that I look back, I marvel at how she was able to do all the things she did. She worked so hard to provide for her family but never complained. She was an amazing seamstress and craftswoman. I hope I can be half the woman she was. I love you, mom.
Happy Mother's Day to all my blogging friends and family.
