Fireflies

Seeing the fireflies twinkling over the bushes at twilight the last couple of weeks have brought back so many childhood memories of summer -- games of Red Rover with my cousins, eating popsicles and having to share so we each got one half, going out at night with the flashflight to search for earthworms to use for bait, roasting marshmallows over the grill, sitting on the lawn and waiting for Sputnik to fly over, searching for and pointing out each constellation in the night sky, games of hide-and-seek in the dark, spending the night with cousins or having them stay over with us. I loved those hazy, warm summer evenings.
