I spent the long holiday weekend in North Carolina with my daughter and my adorable grandsons and had a wonderful time. I was invited to attend the wedding ceremony of Q and U where Tyler attends Kindergarden. It was a beautiful ceremony with Q and U being attended by all their classmates as bridesmaids and groomsmen. They even had a real minister who officiated at the wedding where Q and U promised to stand by each other forever and to never be apart. At the end of the wedding, Q and U were able to seal their promises with a kiss, which prompted a loud EEEEEWWWWWW from all the groomsmen and loud giggles from all the bridesmaids.
A wedding reception was held immediately following the ceremony where cupcakes and punch were enjoyed by all.

Settling In But Not Quite
This my seventh week here in Virginia and at my new job. The transition has been fairly easy, except for the usual hassle of packing and moving my furniture and household items. I'm still in Ashburn with my sister and her family. I've been looking for a place to call home but haven't found anything compatible yet. The rent prices are pretty expensive.
I was surprised to find how beautiful Virginia is! I've found some wonderful places on my forays into looking for a place to live. Here are some fantastic shots I took in Purcellville, which is about 20 minutes from Ashburn.
I was hoping to find something on a farmstead to rent, but the ones I've looked at were really out of my price range. I'll probably end up renting a nice little townhouse with an attached garage to make things easier during the winter and rainy weather.
I went to the pet store with my sister last week to get some food for the dog and cats, and they had a really nice, large glass cage for their parakeets. Some of them were snuggled up together, which I found so adorable. They reminded me of a pile of puppies sleeping together.
I wanted to take some pictures of the building I work in but I keep forgetting my camera. It's located right across the street from Arlington National Cemetery and next to Henderson Hall. You can see the Washington Monument in the short distance. I'm enjoying my job and living in Virginia.
